Buddleja davidi

Nanho Alba syn. B. Nanho White

Narrow green leaves and compact habit are the signature qualities of the Nanho Group.

If you are looking for a good compact white then B. ‘Nanho Alba’ is hard to beat,  producing a profusion of  broad white flowers.

 

 History

Buddleja davidii ‘Monite’ (selling name Nanho White) is a cultivar raised and introduced by the wholesale Monrovia Nursery in California, USA in 1967. The shrub was accorded the RHS Award of Garden Merit in 2010.

 

 

 

 

 

  • Flower Colour: Pure white with an orange throat
  • Habit: Compact
  • Eventual height: 100-150cm (3-5ft) Spread: 100-150cm (3-5ft)
  • Hardiness: Very hardy - 20°C USDA zones 5-9
  • Leaf colour: Pale green
  • Flowering: Very floriferous. The flowers are 15-20cm (6-8") in length
  • Fragrance: Scented
  • Situation: Prefers a sunny position
  • Wildlife: Good for bees, butterflies and other insects

AWARD OF GARDEN MERIT

15 Buddleja were awarded an AGM  at the 2008-10 Wisley Trial.  It was mainly the  Buddleja davidii that were judged but we have many others in our 160+ collection which are worthy winners.
