B. ‘Panache‘ is distinguished by its deep blue-purple branched flowers similar to those of B. ‘Dartmoor’. However, the branches on young plants are scarcely able to bear the weight of these compound flower-heads causing them to droop to the ground.

 History

B. ‘Panache’ was a chance seedling found in his Kent garden by Maurice Foster in the 1990s.

The name refers to the plume in the hat of Cyrano de Bergerac, plus it has some floral pizzazz.
