Buddleja sterniana is a deciduous shrub which bears lavender flowers with orange eyes on the previous year’s wood before the leaves appear in early spring. Best grown in a pot as it requires winter protection.
History
Described and named by English botanist Arthur Disbrowe Cotton in 1947, B. sterniana is rare in cultivation.
A native of the Yunnan Province in China where it grows in light scrub, natural gullies and by stream edges.
