Hardy Hybrids

Lo and Behold® Blue Chip

This series of compact dwarf Buddleja won’t seed about your garden, so no invasives to worry about. Perfect for patio pots, low hedges and borders, Buddleja ‘Blue Chip’ is smothered in blue blooms from early summer to the first frosts of autumn.

 History

A hybrid created by Dennis Werner at the North Carolina Agricultural Research Service, part of the North Carolina State University, USA. Dr. Werner was looking to create a genuinely dwarf Buddleja that did not self seed.

B. Lo and Behold® ‘Blue Chip’ was the first of a series of plants created by crossing B. davidii, B. davidii var. nanhoensis ‘Nanho Purple’, B. globosa and B. lindleyana.
