Buddleja myriantha forms a small shrub with pale green leaves and spikes of violet-blue flowers in the summer. This species requires winter protection in the UK in order to ensure flowering.
History
Described and named in 1912 by the German botanist Dr. Friedrich Ludwig Emil Diels.
B. myriantha grows in the Fujian, Gansu, Guangdong, Guizhou, Hunan, Sichuan, Xizang and Yunnan Provinces of China plus Myanmar. Naturally plants grow in open woodlands, forest edges, thickets and on stream banks at altitudes of 400-3400m.
