B. x pikei ‘Hever’ is an English hybrid raised by Mr A.V. Pike whilst he was the head gardener at Hever Castle in Kent. The plant which is a result of crossing B. alternifolia and B. crispa received the RHS Award of Garden Merit in 1953.
