Buddleja davidi

Windtor

B. ‘Windtor’ is cultivar compact in habit growing to a height of 150-200cm.

The pale blue panicles 15–20 cm long are complemented by silver-grey foliage. Similar to B. ‘Southcombe Splendour’,

 

 History

 This cultivar was raised in a private garden at Widecombe in Devon.

  • Hardiness: Very hardy - 20°C USDA zones 5-9
  • Leaf colour: Medium silver grey
  • Flowering: The flowers are 15-20+cm (6-8+") in length
  • Fragrance: Sweetly scented
  • Situation: Prefers a sunny position
  • Wildlife: Good for bees and butterflies
  • Later in the year some close up images of the flowers and leaves will be added along with a botanical description.

AWARD OF GARDEN MERIT

15 Buddleja were awarded an AGM  at the 2008-10 Wisley Trial.  It was mainly the  Buddleja davidii that were judged but we have many others in our 160+ collection which are worthy winners.
